Soul∞utions for Addiction
What is the true nature of addiction? All addiction is an attempt by our ego to gain a sense of passion and connection from life. The journey of the addict and the spiritual are very similar, they are both seeking the same thing, passion and connection or more simply put ‘oneness’. The purpose of passion is to become ‘one with’ to blend or merge together, to feel a union and oneness.
The passionate artist or musician, loses him/herself in their craft of creation.
The artist moves beyond space and time into the creative dimension and blend or merge with the creative-spiritual force of their Soul and Spirit. They become one with the canvas or musical instrument. It is easy to see this in the act of sex, the sexual drive is the attempt to merge and ‘become one’. It is believed that during an orgasm you are actually momentarily connected to the beauty and power of your Soul and Divine Consciousness. Albeit fleeting this connection is so desirous that the sex drive is the most primal part of our nature as human beings. Passion assuages lonliness and separation, while providing a sense of connection, onenness and belonging.
The Soul’s passion is to become one with God-Goddess, to experience “Oneness”. The passion of your Soul, the yearning to become one and to feel connected is the spiritual journey coming home to the Divine, returning to God-Goddess. When our ego is in charge of fulfilling this desire, it finds an activity or experience (i.e., food, alcohol, drugs, sex, etc) to try to belong, connect and momentarily experience oneness.

5. Stop Judging your Emotion Nature.
As children we learned to define positive emotions as love, happiness, peace, gratitude and joy, and negative emotions as anger, fear, guilt, shame, pain and loneliness. The way emotions feel and function are the root of these categorizations. It is true that all emotions either expand or contract, depending on their nature.
“Positive” emotions are expansive in nature and allow us to relax and feel greater freedom. Likewise the typically labeled “negative” emotions constrict, pull in and feel tight. They often signal that something is out of balance in your life, like the warning lights on your cars dashboard, telling you to slow down and check under the hood. This is a very good thing to have available and isn’t negative.
The problem arises when we judge and label our emotions as positive (good), or negative (bad). Emotions aren’t negative or bad, they can all become positive resources to help guide and direct your life. You can develop composure, not being lead by your emotions, but having dominion over them.

4. End your Tug-of-War between Fear and Love.
You’ve heard a “half” truth, its goes something like this, “Love is the absence of fear”, “You can’t feel love and fear at the same time.” Sounds good and it is a simple answer, but the truth is that love is a complex emotion and is the only emotion that seeks to understand your fear. Love can heal and transform your fear into value. In our world of duality, love has its own shadow, it is the fear of loss. The more you love someone or something, the more you fear losing it.
Most people are so afraid of fear that they take a short cut and decide to resist love because they fear they may get hurt, disappointed, etc. This allows fear to diminish your ability to love. When you understand that love has its own fear to deal with, then you can let it be part of the equation. It is only love that has the power to transform fear.
The next time you feel fear around issues of love, you can make a conscious choice to say to yourself, “OK, fear I feel you but I am not going to stop loving!” When you commit to love in the face of fear something magical happens. You become more empowered and your ability to love and be intimate deepens. Fear has a purpose, it is there to show you what really matters to you in life. When you are afraid of losing someone or something, aren’t you really telling yourself how important that person or thing is to you?

Secret #3 - Learn to Dance with Chaos.
We judge chaos as bad and wrong and we set up whole societies with laws, rules and regulations to minimize chaos and that is a good thing. Surely, living chaotically 24/7 would be overwhelming and unproductive. However, most have such fear of chaos that we hold ourselves back from some of the most beautiful positive chaotic experiences in life. Unfortunately, most people have developed a resistance to all chaos and we have replaced it with control. Being in control is good, and experiencing chaos is bad or so we are conditioned to think/believe.
The truth is you need to be willing to dance between the two in order to have a successful life. Often what is missing from peoples lives that is most important to them can only be accessed by dancing with chaos. Passion, creativity, wisdom and intimacy are some of life experiences that require a certain amount of chaos to fully experience. Avoid chaos and have difficulty experiencing so much of what brings personal fulfillment into your lives.
All change produces chaos. In order to change something in your life you must be willing to go through a period of chaos. It is easier to see chaos with bad changes (i.e., getting divorced, losing a child or losing your job) but likewise good changes also produce chaos.(i.e., getting married, having a child or starting a new job). Chaos isn’t bad, it is a necessary part of being able to change.

The second secret goes against the popular spiritual notion that simplicity is best and we should always seek the simple answer. There is a paradox of simplicity and complexity.
Secret #2 Allow Your Life to be ‘Complex’ Rather than Demand ‘Simplicity’.
You must think this is a typo and I meant to reverse the words, how can complexity be good for you? First of all, the word complex suggests intricate, detailed; it does not imply difficulty or struggle. Complexity requires you to be more conscious with your life. It promotes deeper thinking and provides the foundation for personal empowerment and positive growth.
The major reason to allow your life to be ‘complex’ is because… that is the nature of living life as an adult. Life is complex, it isn’t simple, have you noticed? The child inside of us wants everything to be simple. But if you are over the age of 10, then your life isn’t simple anymore so stop resisting and begin to accept complexity as a natural part of life. When you try to make your life simple, it ends up becoming much more difficult. It is a paradox.

In my 25 years of pursuing personal empowerment and conscious living, I’ve learned some pretty powerful lessons that have transformed my life. I often share these lessons with friends and clients and it always produces positive changes if they learn and practice these new ways of thinking, feeling and being.
This month, I will share with you a secret a day for 5 days, these secrets can expand your awareness and quickly change your perception of yourself and your life. When this happens you will shift and lift your vibration instantly opening you to new possibilities and more positive experiences to flow into your life. Please leave any feedback about these truths, because often many are the opposite of what we’ve been taught and conditioned to believe. Each one I have worked with and has changed my life dramatically
1. Be Responsible for the Positive Events in Your Life.
How often do we think of responsibility as a obligation when we’ve done something wrong. ” I gotta be responsible for this mess!” Start thinking of responsibility as a gift that leads to freedom. Begin by owning the successes you’ve created in your life and be responsible for them as well as the mess that needs to be cleaned up.

Close your eyes and allow yourself to receive a number in your mind from 1-9 then read the numbered message below to hear a message from your Soul on how you can create greater magic and miracles in this new decade 2010 and beyond. Note if you had two numbers come to mind go ahead and read both numbers.
1. Learn to Dance with Chaos - The secret and challenge of 2010 for you will be to understand the true nature of change and to build an alliance with chaos. All change produces chaos, small changes create a little chaos, larger changes, major chaos. People avoid chaos while trying to change. It doesn’t work. Learn how to reduce your fear of chaos and learn to dance with its rhythm and watch how procrastination ends and your life transforms. Excitement, enthusiasm, adventure and joy are all forms of positive chaos. Take time this year to reduce your fears while embracing chaos. You’ll make more profound changes that can transform your life.
2. Express Your Creativity - Begin a new creative project just for yourself, for the fun of it. Often our creativity is limited by approval. Do not try to win the approval of others and do not become entangled in the traps of perfection and control. True creativity is not neat and tidy, it is messy, let your ideas flow, write, sing, dance, paint, create something new. Let your mind receive the enchantment of the muses. Be amused with your own inherent creativity and let it flow bringing greater magic and miracles into your life. Guided meditation suggestion: The Rainbow Meditation
